After talking to Brinn last night, we thought it would be a good idea to have an FX/ROGUE party soon. This would be a chance to have a bit of a mixer and get to know our new neighbors on both sides. If there's interest, we need to decide on a time and format.
Brinn said he would direct some of the ROGUEs to these forums so perhaps we can organize a preferred date/time more easily. Any preferences along those lines?
I presume a regular song/dance night at TAB could work. Or we could do something inventive like a yacht crawl, hunt night, or play around with the event tools. Thoughts on this?

well, we previously talked about the Yacht Crawl, and that it would be good to do a first run with friends instead (In hopes of doing an advertized one later.)
whether we do a ground party or a Yacht party Sundays or weekday evenings are best for me.

One of the issues with a yacht crawl, though, is that only eight people can be on each ship at a time. So depending on the turnout, that might require us to mix people back and forth between a couple of groups.
That can be good in a way, because smaller groups encourage shy people to talk more. But on the other hand, we probably want to foster a sense that there's just one big community (which might be easier in a single mega-group setting). Just some things to think about.

I was pretty sure they arranged it that you could take up to thirty in your yacht, rather than just limiting it to your group. Unless they changed that while I was in Kansas or something.

Let's test it sometime...pick a yacht and see how many damn Arca Effexians we can stuff into it!

It is 30 people on a multi-player ship like the yacht. With the 8 people in the group they are the only ones that can sit at a station (pilot, copilot, gunner) but anyone near you can be invited up onto your ship with a limit of 30 people. The ones not in the owner's group are just crew (or party folk!).

Ok, I've been asked to share my availiblity for this event. Monday thru Thursday are my best days, Friday and Saturday I am lucky if I get to check my email, and Sunday later in the evening: 9-10pm'ish eastern time I am good. Well there it is, my availibilty schedule.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

I was thinking we might try to organize something low maintenance along these lines for this weekend. Maybe a TAB party on Saturday and/or Sunday night? Would have to see if Brinn can talk to the ROGUEs that soon.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday are definately the most difficult times for me to attend. RPG geek that I am those are the days I tend to end up sitting around a table, rolling dice and pretending to be a hero of long ago days. Either that or tooling around in the local masonic hall pretending I'm some bloodsucking fiend of the night.
Sometimes though I manage to actually have a social life that doesn't involve pretending to be something I'm not, and these are also the days that get used for that.
I'd really really like to see a ROGUE/FX party line-up, but for me to make it it'd likely have to be on weeknights. If ya can get something planned for this weekend though, go for it. It's not like there can't be more than one party.

Thursday night is just about the only night I would ever be able to attend. So if that is ever the case, I should be there. I hope. Unless it's late. Or after 8pm EST. lol

Good, that's why I created this thread. Contrary to what I guessed, weeknights seem to be better for most than weekends. So let's talk about weeknights. Summer says Thursdays... how does Thursday night strike everyone else?

the only realistic day that works for me are weekends...homework and such...but then I can't do anything for at least 2 weeks. I might be able to make it though on Thursdays once I get my comp up and running depending on how hard my classes get.

Any day I am home works for me. This weekend is no good! Panic in the streets of L.A. (this past Thursday, last night and tonight) and then I have a b-day party to attend to for my friend's daughter.
Thursday sounds good to me.

ConradWidespread PanicConrad the Caterpillar thought he was really killer, Couldn't wait to buy blue suede shoes (recent lyrics) Spent all his days eatin' leaves in the shade And stayed when the night set, too. Conrad the Caterpillar knew life would be a thriller Soon as the threads was spun Wouldn't stop to play in the Caterpillar Games Till his own webbing game was done. He said, "No, no, I got no time to play, Got a thousand little legs that don't get me too far in a day, I'm leaving, looks like I can't stay." That little pillar he found him a willow Spun in with a craftsmans weave Wound so tightly to protect him from the light And all shapes of water that drop from the leaves Conrad the Caterpillar knew he would be a chiller And he wound it tighter some more Wound it so wide and the ends of his legs got sore. He said, "No, now I can't feel my feet Just when I thought it was time to take a stroll on down the street I'm leaving, looks like I can't leave What do you know? What's all this moving around with inside me? What kind of 'piller could touch the world of a miller Chopping trees to build a new store Nobody sees a lonely bump on the tree Except a lump who's crying for more Conrad the Caterpillar knew life would be a chiller as he wound it tighter some more Anybody stands in the caterpillar's place is moving in a standing run He said, "No brother, I just need some room to fly, I spent all of my days just trying to keep dry Oh I'd take a waterfall or a drop from my eye I can't see nothin' from here anyway, I might as well make room and try Might as well try Oh no, I just need a little room to play Got a thousand little wings and I'm gonna use them all today I'm leaving, it looks like I gotta stay. Panic played this song at the end of their encore last night and it made me think of you Conrad. Plus, I met some cool people from Austin last night and the night before at the shows and will be hanging with them again tonight. Making the thought of ACL even more tempting to attend.

Okay, we are a go for Thursday night! I've been talking to people in game, and so far there seems to be an enthusiastic response. I think we're going to end up with a strong turnout, so I encourage everyone to attend if scheduling allows. I think the plan is to have this at TAB. Not sure exactly when we'll get started (sometime in the evening) and will probably last until people get tired and disperse.

Also, I sent an email to all ROGUE members on Tuesday that the party was this Thursday (TONIGHT! ). I, of course, told them it was MANDATORY and that they VILL enjoy themselves or zey vill be severely punished! Or I might have just told them to come because it will be great fun.

The Party Rocked!! Thank You to all who were able to attend. We started off in TAB, moved out side for a fireworks show, moved on to the Corellian Players Theater (Thanx! That ruled!) then capped it off with a relaxing Jukebox session back in TAB courteously provided by Vert to wind things down.
Again, great party everyone!
