"His name is Nathan Petrelli. He is Clark Kent without the glasses. Instead of a cape, he wears pajamas when he flies. Very cool"
I read that line and it just made me break out in geek giggles! ;D
Hiro is so cool, I swear they could have done a whole show with just Hiro discovering and learning his powers. I woulda been there!

Yeah, i lol'd (literally) at the pajamas line too. And yeah, he uses lots of gamer lingo, but since my friends still talk about things like what their X ability would be, i think it's fun. Go Hiro!
Oh, and don't feel bad billie, i find myself doing stuff like that ALL the time. Just this evening such an occurence happened when my friend took me to see her co-worker's band play at, what turned out to be, just about the toughest bar in Vacaville (which doesn't really say 'that' much). Most everyone was dressed in costume. One such person was dressed as Wonder Woman, and she happened to be pretty tall and thick, and the costume didn't fit too well. Someone made a crack and i was about to expound on how maybe the lady misconstrued Wonder Woman's Amazonian origins to be of the 'modern amazonian' terminology thereby allowing for the extra height and girth. But thought better of it and kept silent and enjoyed the band. Good band by the way, kind of Elvis Presley meets Black Sabbath rockabilly/metal thing, they did things with the song 'I'm on fire' that i didn't know could be done. Fun!
Wait... that story's not really related is it? Meh, oh well, kinda, well you get the picture, you're not alone in your geekdom.
Edit: i forgot the obligatory, "One of us, one of us!"

"Why are you going to the bathroom together?" "That's how we roll." OMG, that line caught me by surprise. Funny.
Hiro's face when we heard about the sword was as good as expected.
I liked seeing the family reunion--I finally bought the intimacy between Hyde Lady and Prison Man when I saw them together, and it was gratifying to see the boy greet his father. But the end was frustratinbg--do they really need to duke it out, just to create a cliffhanger ending? (Granted, the mom's dual personality DID steal his money, and this has to come to a head.)
Yeah, the "revelations" of this episode had been predicted already, so no shocks there (especially since the comic last week revealed most of D.L.'s secrets).
I was, however, surprised that Lizard-Wielding Girl, I mean Eden, has been given orders to abduct Isaac. What's the time table for this story arc, does anyone know? Are we half-way through the episodes of this season?
It's kind of all starting to pull together--if Eden brings Isaac to Odessa, Texas, NurseMan can notice he's missing and find a clue to follow, and he can somehow get his brother Nathan to form a party with him, then maybe Hiro can pull Stripper Mom and DL and maybe the computer boy along with he and Ando and they can all form a group and go to New York, then form a big Raid Group and truck on down to Tejas. Am I forgetting anyone? Oh yeah! The cop! Uhm, he can just get kidnapped again by Evil Dad? Or maybe he can track him down with detective work.

Yeah i don't know, i thought for a minute that Stripper Mom was dead (and rejoiced). But i fear that it's undue rejoicification as she'll probably come back. It looks like Hiro and Ando meet up with D.L. and Boy next week, but it also looks like it's a Cop Man and Bad Teeth Girl episode so who knows how deep they'll go. I kinda like that it's seperate storylines but i kinda don't 'cause i have to wait a whole week anyway just to see if it's gonna be about the characters i like. And if it's not, i have to wait another week. Oh well. Also, i don't exactly know where Cop Man is, but he and Bad Teeth Girl are on Sylar's trail aren't they? The biggest quesion of all though, is how did we all get a post in before Ecta?

His DSL went down again. When I turned on the computer last night and saw zero posts from anyone, I knew his DSL had gone down again. Poor Batty. We know you're out there, aching to opine! Don't worry, we'll wait. ;D [P.S. Does anyone else think that maybe the weekly web comic is giving too much away lately? It basically spoils all the surprise for next week. And it did that last time! (We know that Stripper Mom was guilty, but now we saw it happen, and we have more detail on her super powers that I wonder if they would not rather have shown on TV first; they gave away DL's powers the same way.)]

Sorry about being absent. I haven't been feeling good lately so I've been in bed alot. *blech*
I have more questions than answers after this episode. Ok so I was wrong about Eden. Whenever people came up with theories she was working with Claire's dad I just didn't believe it. But it still leaves more questions. Why was she there? So they could find more people? I still don't get that whole thing. He grabbed Matt, hooked him up to a couple of machines and then ... what? Erased his memory and let him go? Is he just testing people to find out what they can do?
And the Niki and D.L. thing at the end just made me stare at the screen with my jaw on the floor. So what exactly happened? I get that he phased one of his hands into her stomach, but why did it cut back and forth from that to his hand around her throat? Was it something Micah was seeing? (it didn't show his hand around her throat until Micah walked in) Is this some brief glimpse of his powers? Or just a little kid who's mind can't process the image of his dad with his hand inside his mom's stomach? (I don't really see that though.. Micah is way to smart and together to get warped like that)
And Hiro and Ando were amazing as usual! I loved the bathroom line too! And the Sword line... And poor Hiro being all upset that he couldn't save the day.
Love the episode, and I'm going to go grab the online comic now. I haven't seen it yet.
*edit* By the way... is everyone checking out the hidden stuff in the online comic? Pretty neat stuff!

I do think the comic gives too much away, that is, when it's not going and doing something that shouldn't happen at all (such as putting Cheerleader in the field with Rape Boy). I thought they were supposed to supplemental but they appear to be more of a skewed preview. Haven't found anything hidden in the comic yet. Haven't really looked though. And speaking of the new one, i guess my theories of her being basically 'normal' are out the window now. She can rip safe doors off?! That's pretty damn strong. I still wish she was dead though.
I was wondering about how his hand went in her stomach and around her neck too. I thought maybe he had her with both hands, but couldn't quite tell. Oh and Eden! Yeah i have to admit i was caught with my jaw on the floor for that one, i never saw that coming. Glasses Man is definitely a bigger mystery than most of the heroes, not only is there the question of what he did to Cop Man and why he let him go, but also, why was he going to just "hollow" Politician Man out without giving him so much as a second chance. Maybe since cop man can read minds Glasses Man plans on using him again in the future?

If you read the online comics, each one has something hidden when you click on one of the pages. It's pretty neat. Mostly artwork and stuff. Oh and I almost forgot! Are you guys reading the blog of Greg Beeman? One of the shows directors? He has an interview up with Ali Larter about episode 6. And he mentions that everyone on the show calls Niki's mirror personality Jessica. (wonder if that will show up actually in the show or not) gregbeeman.blogspot.com/

OK, I just checked it again and during the beatdown, the thugs got at least two shots off. I think that Jessica has either super reflexes which I doubt considering she was wearing heels or she has invulnerability.
Then again they could have just missed.

Very nice, indeed. I loved the stats--it's clever, and it is totally in character for him.
In fact, his character keeps getting more interesting the more he says. He really is Lawful Good. The fact that he worries so much about his actions proves it. "The biggest question I have is am I a real hero? I cowardly hid whilesomeone was being killed. My fingers was on L1 + R1 the whole time." Yup.
(He probab y over estimated his stats though--I've made myself in V&V, too, and I wasn 't so generous. :0 )

(Quoting myself and answering my own questions... I'm gonna get all weird like that sorry.)
So after discussing the newest episode with my brother, then rewatching the scene with Niki(Jessica?) and D.L. i figured it out. (thank you zoom feature)
D.L. puts his hand inside her stomach, then when D.L. notices Micah walk in and scream "mom" D.L. moves his hand , and arm thats still inside her up then grabs her throat. Maybe so Micah doesn't see how horrific it is that dad put his hand right through mom? You could clearly see his arm moving under her stomach like it was under water. Freaky. But yeah that mystery is solved, although it should have been more clearly shown.

I have thought about that scene too and the more I think about it the more I believe that Nikki regained control when Micah walks in or before that. If jessica had been in control, she would have reached down and grabed his arm and yanked it off his body. Then again, Micah would have seen that, so maybe she "took a fall."

I watched the episode again tonight and a big question occurred to me: Why does Nikki even still exist? Jessica is better in every way. She's confident, fearless, has a solid plan, and apparently she is the one with access to the super strength (and who knows what else?). What does she even need Nikki for? Jessica is perfectly capable of interacting with Micah and she does not scare him. So is "existing" an effort or is she on a timer or something? Why must she vanish and leave Nikki to cope with reality? But of course, I realize now I have no idea how multiple personalities work anyway. We know danger triggers Jessica, but I am wondering why she would relinquish control, ever. Wouldn't Nikki be better off (in a pessimistic, pragmatic sort of way) without her? Maybe Jessica is incapable of enjoying their prosperity?

I keep thinking the split personality is some kind of crutch. Like Isaac with his drugs. He can use his precog powers without being high, just doesn't know it yet. Maybe Niki created this split personality to deal with the weirdness of the powers? Maybe one day she can learn to cope with being superstrong without having Jessica show up?
Just another wild guess at what is going on , cause I don't know...

Mondays on NBC and Fridays on Scifi. I have thought about how they all got their powers and I have come to a conclusion. They gave themselves the powers they have through will power and that is why it resides in the brain and also why Sylar takes the brain. We know that if Cheerverine gets an object stuck in her brain, she can't regen. Now take Hiro. Where would he get the idea that he could teleport and bend time and space? I think he got the power to do that becasue that is what he wanted. That is all he thought about was being able to do that and that is what he tried to do until he succeeded. Nikki obviously has trouble coping and with her life the way it was, she obviously wished their were two of her to handle all the stresses she dealt with and I am sure that she also wished that she was stronger, fearless and confidant to handle any situation that came up so she wouldn't be stressed out. She told Ando that the person he saw on the net wasn't her. Issiak most likely wanted his paintings to have meaning and to show people things that they couldn't normally see. Cheerverine like most teenagers believes she is indestructable and will stay young, healthy and will live forever. She was probably afraid of being injured and gaining scars as most pretty girls would be. Of course, it makes you wonder why she didn't gain the ability to "know everything" like all teenagers do! If you take all that into consideration, then you can come to the conclusion that their mental state defined their powers.

Though i have to question a few of them, Politician Man didn't seem to *want* anything to do with flying, his brother Nurse Man did... and can't, per se.

Ok, I'm gonna bust out a quick post with first impressions, now that the episode is over.
First of all , the scenes between Claire and her brother were soooo classic. He freakin stapled her hand.... I mean c'mon that scene alone would have made the episode a classic.
But then you get Hiro meeting D.L. and Micah... saving the lady from the car explosion etc... Great stuff!
And I SOOOOOOOOOOO knew Micah was a technopath! I was right about him having the power! (not that it was a huge stretch to guess since both his parents are supers) But the fact that Micah knows about Jessica? So now how much does he know?
OMG! The stuff between Nathan and Peter worked so good ! Nathan's line to Peter, "What am I supposed to do? Get a costume, and fly around the city pulling kittens from trees?" Made me giggly. ;D
Only bad part about this episode was the teaser making me wish it was next Monday already!
*and there! now I have the first post after an episode. I'm all medicated so I'm gonna pass out now. lol *

Hey i like that word 'Technopath' i'd never heard it before. When i saw him 'building a new motherboard' or whatever he was doing in episode 1 it was obvious it would have to do with technology, but i didn't figure he'd be able to control it. Neat though! And i swear when he got on the phone i said "oh like he's not smart enough to know when it's his mom and when it's not" but of course i was shut up swiftly as he DID indeed know, which is also cool. I so want him to be part of the ever slowly gathering group.
The intro of Radioactive Man was interesting, i'm wondering what role he'll play as he is now in lock up. But i don't know how long you can hold someone for accidentally killing someone else with radioactivity shooting out of your hands. Is it considered manslaughter, i'm not sure what he thought he'd be able to do that the machines couldn't and was that an unreasonable assumption. Either way, it looks like they want us to think that he's source of the nuclear explosion. That seems to easy at first, but as has already been pointed out there can only be so many episodes left to the season and if they want to stop it before the season ends then they have to start amping things up. But of course if he IS the source why didn't Hiro come back and say "Stop the radiologist, save the world." or some such other thing along those lines.
The new heroes mark, what is it? For that matter, what is the old mark? Does anybody care?
The scenes with claire were short (thankfully so) and pretty much showed nothing that wasn't shown on last weeks preview. But i will say, 'what the hell?' does this kid not subscribe to Occam's razor? Okay so maybe he doesn't, but still, if i saw a tape of my sister jumping off a tower and getting hit by a car that was made by her nerdy computer geeky friend i would NOT assume first and foremost that she was a super powered being! I suppose there IS such a thing as watching too much t.v. or reading too many comics and this kid is the result ladies and gentlemen.
So the new mark, along with the fact that the new hero is a radiologist with radiological powers both suggest intelligent design for the source of their powers, but as the show moves on i get the feeling that they are trying their hardest to outrun that whole question. Which i hope not 'cause that will suck.
Oh, and didn't we used to have to look for the connections between people and their powers? I mean we still don't know why a politician flies and now they toss us a radiologist who radiologizes! What's next, an ornamental horticulturist who produces ornamental horticulture?
Meh. It was a good episode.

I really enjoyed that whole scene with Claire's friend. He had me cracking up!
And I may have a working theory on the 2 hash marks that showed up on the neck of Matt, and radioactive man. Bear with me as I'm gonna make some big leaps here....
We see the helix mark on Jessica's shoulder, and not Niki's. We now see 2 hash marks showing up.
What if as these people develop powers, it's some kind of ... almost birthmark like thing? Maybe the hash marks on Matt will grow or change into the full helix mark? It does seem to look like part of the helix symbol. Seems like it might work in theory... if they come up with a decent explantion about what it is, and why it's showing up.
Wild guesses like I said. ;D

Some people on the CoH forums suggest that the helix mark is some sort of power gauge. The reason it is shown full on Jessica is that she is teh ubar!
