Yeah I belive that he tagged them, but it still may be a power gauge or tracking tatoo. One problem with that threory is that when he was looking over Nathan and Nikki, he said to take one of them. Since Jessica already has the mark, then he would have known her and said to take the male. Therefore the mark may not be his.

tv.netscape.com/story/2006/10/18/netscape-on-the-set-of-heroesGreat behind the scenes look at Heroes. Mostly a cool little interview with everyone's favorite Hiro, Masi Oka. They show filming of some scenes that haven't aired yet... no major spoilers or anything. (They do bleep out someones name over and over during a scene. probably to make fans go nuts trying to figure out who it is lol)

Thanks, Ecter!
"A love interest" for Hiro? Hmm.
I am trying to guess who it might be, but I just don't know. Ando is in love with Niki (and she's married, and insane). The art dealer girl from New York is already romantically attached to the painter and the sponge guy. The cheerleader is just too young for him. If Mohinder's little spy girl turns out to be a good guy, maybe she could fall for him, but we don't trust her. Who am I forgetting?
Oh, and the beatboxing on the end was a tad scary. Yikes!

Awww I loved the beatboxing! LOL
Yeah I don't know who he was hinting at either... maybe the FBI lady? I can't think of anyone who would be a good match for hero unless it's a brand new character we haven't seen yet?
I dunno...

Ok my internet connection is still lousy and I'm not sure when it's getting fixed. So I may not get to post monday night after the next episode. (grrrr) I just wanted to make note of something I thought of while re-watching the most recent episode... (which kind of follows Aidin's line of thinking a page or two back) Radioactive man in the hospital grabs a nurse as hostage when Matt and FBI lady come after him. They pull their guns and FBI lady says "Let her go, or I shoot.". Then he says something along the lines of "Do you know what would happen if you do that? I don't. Maybe I'll explode. Maybe I'll take out this whole hospital. Maybe I'll wipe out this city like an atomic bomb." Big speculation incoming! (cause you just know how much I like making wild and crazy guesses.) But what if Sylar gets radioactive mans powers..... and Claire's? What if he could make himself blow up like a bomb, taking out New York... and just sort of reassemble himself after? Sounds far-fetched and almost silly, but I keep trying to figure out where this nuclear bomb-like explosion is coming from and what Hiro meant with "save the cheerleader, save the world". Could that be the connection? Or is it my meds talking? lol *edit* Hiro's blog updated and it's got more neatness! "P.S. Lots of diners in America and all of them have waffles! \(^o^)/ I think blueberry is my favorite so far." Guess I was wrong about Hiro being a fan of Strawberry on his waffles... oh well.

Not sure if I posted about this or not, but the website comicbookresources.com is doing interviews with a couple of the writers after each episode now. Major spoilers in the interviews, so people who don't want to know anything in advance.. don't read it. (I dare ya ) They answer some pretty nifty questions in each interview. I won't spoil anything by quoting answers here, just in case. But I will give an example of a question which had one of my favorite answers... "Will we see any more new "Hero" characters or is this pretty much the "Heroes" team? " www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=8817

My guess is that Sylar needs the cheerleader's regen to survive a fight with Nuke Guy in order to steal his power. His power doesn't seem to affect him when he uses it, so Syar would probably not need regen to nuke NY.

Hmm, those are both decent hypotheses assuming that Sylar is gaining their power when he takes their brain (which very well may have been covered in one of the spoilery interviews, i don't know). At first i thought he was under glasses man's thumb but it has become apparent that that is not the way glasses man works. And if Sylar is taking brains to gain powers how the hell did he learn that he could do that in the first place? It's unlikely that that is his power (were that the case, he would have never learned he had the ability in the first place, unless of course, he's Hannibal Lecter and does that sort of thing frequently). That would make him little more than Nurse Man besides the obvious willingness to kill people to keep their powers (which brings up the question of what would happen if Nurse Man started consuming brains? But i doubt the show will go there.). However, i seem to remember Cop Girl saying something along the lines of how Sylar 'always kills his victims' (with household objects or some such thing. I can't remember exactly and as i have yet to re-watch the episodes i stand to be corrected). This originally gave me the idea that he was a very powerful telekenetic. If he was indeed gaining new powers with every brain he collects wouldn't he start killing more 'efficiently'?
Also i was thinking about how everybody gets powers that are 'tuned' to their personality. Isn't this what Gamma Rays do in the Marvel Universe (The Incredible Hulk, She Hulk, That Blonsky guy "Abomination" and that guy who became real smart... don't remember his name)? It is getting harder and harder to believe that this Tim Kring never read comic books. He has the M.O. down perfect, he hasn't created any 'new' powers so to speak (though i will admit that it could be a tough task these days), the show even plays like a comic (which i assume is on purpose) and he has a chick who basically IS The Incredible Hulk! I am not prepared to call the man a liar, but i am suspicious.

OMG..... Poor Hiro... what the heck is he going to do??
And Claire's father? WTF?? How does he know Sylar? How does he know Sylar is going to try and kill Claire at homecoming? The good and evil question gets muddier and muddier.... Can I still hate the guy? Cause I kinda still do.
Matt and Ted? So now it looks like they both got the hashmarks from Claire's dad? Is that really what's going to happen? Cause what does that mean for Jessica? How could she be tattooed and not Niki if it came from Claire's dad? So confused about that whole thing right now....
Matt's story is getting ugly. Poor guy...
What's up with the spooky kid following Mohinder? The whole time I was like, WTF?
And c'mon.. what does Hiro do? And the picture at the end?? OMG I don't want to wait another week........ this show is making me crazy.

The moral dilemma with a Eden and Isaac and Claire's dead really made this episode cook. Her dad is much more understandable now--his motivation is 100% believable, because what he does is completely evil, but what dad would not do anything to save his little girl? And Eden is finally getting to develop as a character, now that we know she has a past. I know it is natural to think of him as bad, Ecta, because they misled you like that all along, but I think his only sin is being a government agent of some kind. (Well, and giving a clean junkie smack. That's also a terrible thing.)
I have a feeling he will die in the final episode. I just know it. But he'll save Claire, of course.
What was up with the look between Eden and Claire?
I figured that the waitress was going to get off'd when we saw Sylar lurking, but I also knew just as quickly that Hiro must use his power to save her, otherwise they would not have gone to the trouble of making her so likeable.
WTF? What was that photo of Hiro and Waitress Girl? Should I interpret that as s sign that he does not save her? That he does not change the ugly present, and just goes missing in time? Wha. . . ?
OK, next week's preview was coooool.
BTW, I remembered my one major complaint about this show: I cannot tell the opening credits (actor's names) apart from the names of the characters, when the scenes are first established. Must it all be the same typeface? It always confuses me. Fix this!!

Good point about the dad... I get that. But I still hate him giving drugs to Isaac. *WE* all know he doesn't need them, Eden knows, Claire's dad knows... blech I just hated seeing that.
I still wish they had explained how he knew Sylar was going after his daughter. And he knew when? That's crazy stuff you just can't throw out there like that.
I have an idea about Hiro. There are plot outlines out there for the next couple of episodes. One of them is a whole episode set about 6 months before the first episode, so maybe we won't see Hiro till then? Maybe he jumped 6 months back? I'm almost hoping that's not the case. Then what does he do? Stay in the past and live out those 6 monthes with the waitress? Is this how he learns such good english? How much of the timeline would get F'ed up if he did that?

HE knew from the message that Hiro gave Peter, which Eden knows. Save the cheerleader, save the world. He has also seen the paintings and knows that it is his daughter and from it gathered it would take place at homecoming. He needs the final piece of the puzzle which only Issak can paint.
Only he can't do it sober and dad has no time for him to learn.
Being that he has been tracking metas for 14 years, he knows about Sylar, but as he told Issak, he can't find the guy. However, he knows where he will be and who his next target is.
He tells how Claire's parents died, sort of. He just mentioned that there were misunderstandings and it leaves me wondering if there was an accident or did Sylar get them. Maybe dad has been grabbing metas to do something to them that makes it harder for Sylar to find them and since Claire's parents didn't trust him that didn't get marked.

Ok, as for trusting Glasses Man, there's just something about that damn smirk that he gives at just the wrong moment that makes it hard. And as far as Eden goes, well we know from her stint with Mohinder that she can turn that charm on and off at will, so no trust there either. One thing that doesn't sit right is when Radioactive Man gives the story of how he got the way he is. He gives the story of blacking out ,and the Haitian etc. and when he came to he had lost two days (or whatever) and was all radioactive. And Matt says "yeah that's what happened to me too" or something similar. But isn't that bull? Wasn't he reading people's minds before he was taken, didn't he even hook up with FBI girl before that? I mean, we know that glasses man doesn't give people their powers so what are they getting at there? I figure it's just so they can hook up with everyone else and be part of the 'saving the cheerleader' but it seems sloppy. Maybe i'm being overly critical. I think it's safe to assume that Hiro does NOT have the control over his powers that he thought he might. Looks like he jumped too far back, and maybe even too far forward (it's also likely that he jumped forward at the right time, but wrong place... though he's never seemed to have a problem with the location part). Either way, it doesn't look like he saves the girl and that's sad. But seriously, what the hell was her power anyway? Photographic memory? Sure it's keen but is it really 'super'? I am confused on the whole time line thing, didn't they already say that Sylar was the 'patient zero' that Chandra had found in New York, and now they're saying that his own daughter was 'special'. Which of course makes me more curious about the cause of their powers. Overall it was a good episode though. I haven't seen one show yet I think I know exactly what's going on in it. Well, if you do then i'd have to surmise that you're the only one.

Ok watching the rerun on Sci-fi channel and a thought hit me... When Mohinder is seeing the flashback of his father dying, why the focus on Sylar's watch? I mean the camera even zooms in far enough that all you can see is the watch face. Are we supposed to make note of the time? I don't get it.... *edit* Ok in a fantastic ***WTF*** moment. I tried checking Hiro's blog today and found this... blog.nbc.com/hiro_blog/Hiro F'ED UP THE TIMELINE!!!! OMG.....
